Site purpose

With the recent COVID-19 pandemic forcing school closures across the nation, public education has been struck with the need for a temporary shift. We are all anxiously awaiting the green-light to resume providing a premier education to our students, face-to-face; but until that day comes, we would like to provide students an opportunity to continue their learning at home if they choose to do so.

The Hemet Unified staff has been working tirelessly to curate optional enrichment activities that students can complete at home while school is closed. This website will be the “hub” for these educational enrichment resources; however, we will also be providing hard copies of enrichment materials that can be gathered during meal pick-up at certain school locations. Please visit hemetusd.org for more information about nutrition services and updates to meal pick-up locations.

To access the optional educational enrichment resources as well as digital programs and tools, select a grade level from the menu above, or click the Explore Our Enrichment Activities button below.

A Message from Dr. Barrett

We as a nation, state, and community are experiencing unprecedented times. During these uncertain times, the District wants to thank our families for remaining flexible and understanding while HUSD is creating new resources to provide educational opportunities to our students.

One way HUSD is pivoting to meet the challenges of our new circumstances is by creating this website. This new website provides a more user-friendly and comprehensive guide to students and families as we take learning away from the classrooms and into homes. This website provides families with optional activities and lessons for our students to still engage in learning while our schools are closed. We will add new enrichment packets every week for our students and online resources to further enhance students’ knowledge in core subject areas.

We hope you are all staying safe and we look forward to seeing you all when we reopen our schools.

Sincerely,
Dr. Christi Barrett
